Dawn was born in Johannesburg in 1952, and went to High School there. She studied art for matric, but had no further formal art education. She always wanted to paint, but realized that with raising 3 children, her time was not her own, and put it on hold for some 25 years.  

About 17 years ago, she decided that she had the time, and went for Watercolour lessons with Jane Thompson in Bedfordview for a while. She now paints in all mediums, acrylic, watercolour and oil as well as having done quite a few wall murals indoors and out.

Dawn is a housewife with the hobby of painting and has since been able to sell quite a few of her works, and has also had several commissions.

Now living in Plett she painted with friends on a weekly basis before Covid put a stop to all that.
